Characteristics of drug abuser

The following characteristics or qualities are displayed by drug abusers. These are:

Abuser of alcohol

1. Aggressiveness
2. Tremor such as shaking of the hands
3. Hallucination/slowed speech
4. Inability to maintain balance
5. Excessive sweating
6. Strong smell of alcohol

Abuser of tobacco

1. Smell of tobacco
2. Stained and discoloured fingers, lips, and teeth
3. Incessant coughing
4. Breathlessness
5. Untidy appearance

Abuser of cannabis

1. Very mellow and untroubled
2. Hallucination
3. False sense of pleasure
4. Animated or excited

Abuser of cocaine

1. Nervousness
2. Loss of appetite
3. Itchy skin
4. Frequent nose bleeds
5. Animated or excited
6. Punctured marks from needles (for those who inject it into their veins)
