Let’s get started!

Sing and Recite:

Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star English Primary 1

We’ll start by singing fun songs and reciting cool rhymes together. 🎶 This helps us listen to different sounds and enjoy ourselves!

Let’s start with this song:

“‘Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star 🌟

Twinkle, twinkle, little star,

How I wonder what you are!

Up above the world so high,

Like a diamond in the sky.

Twinkle, twinkle, little star,

How I wonder what you are!”

Can you tell me how you feel after listening to that song, or would you like us to sing it again?

 Listen to Letter Sounds:

Letters make sounds, just like when we say “Aa” for apple! Let’s listen and repeat this sound together. 🗣️ For example, “B says /buh/ like in ‘ball’!” Can you give me more examples?

Find Rhyming Words:

Finding rhyming words

Rhyming words sound alike at the end. Can you find words that rhyme? Like “cat” and “hat”? Let’s practice! 🐱🎩 “Dog and frog rhyme because they both end with -og!”

We’ll play a game with words. Listen closely, and when you hear words that rhyme, raise your hand! 👂 “Listen: ‘sun,’ ‘fun,’ ‘run.’ Which two words rhyme?”

Imagine rhyming words are like a family with the same last name. Let’s group them! 🏠🏠 “Let’s put ‘pen,’ ‘hen,’ and ‘den’ in the ‘-en’ family!”

Assignment

I want you to give me more examples of rhyming words that you know.
