Types of Food We Eat, Sources of Food in Our Community

Hello Class. I hope you enjoyed the last lesson. Today, we will  be talking about the types of food we eat.

There are 6 types of nutrients and their usefulness to the body

  1. Carbohydrate: examples are rice, yam, potatoes.

2. Protein: eggs, beans

3. Vitamins:  vegetables and fruits

4. Fats and oil: vegetable oil, Butter

5. Mineral salt: Table salt

6. Water

Sources of food

Sources of food are broadly classified into two groups: they are plants and animals and their related products.

Plants are the sources of food ingredients like grains, cereals, vegetables and fruits

Animal provides us with milk, cheese meat products and eggs,
