Impact of Computer in Cultural and Creative Arts
The computer is a term used for a programmable electronic machine which processes given instructions for anticipated results. The instructions come as imputed data or information is given for output of results. The computer can process a set of pre-imputed instructions.
To ensure the efficient operation of a computer, hardware components are needed in their different capacity. Examples are:
- Memory
- Hard disk
- Input device
- Output device
- Central process unit (CPU)
Types of computer
We have two types of computer: Desktop and laptop computers.
The desktop has independent components like display screen called a monitor, CPU, keyboard, mouse and is not mobile, as it is set up at the desired position.
The laptop, unlike the desktop as a keyboard with an attached display screen with a mouse pad. It is portable, lightweight and mobile, as it can be carried about with ease.
Uses of computer in the cultural and creative arts
- It is used to design
- It is used for animation
- It is used for photography
- It is used for illustration
- It is used for special effects
- It is used for composition, recording and storage of music
- It is used for performing and entertainment
