CONTENT:

Food is either solid or liquid that after eating has one or more functions to perform in the body.

Food hygiene is a practice if taken care of the various food items before, during and after preparing the meal.

 

 

Reasons for healthy food hygiene

  1. It enables food to be safe from contamination
  2. It prevents house flies from spreading on the food
  3. It helps in maintaining good health
  4. Promotes life span
  5. Increases appetite

 

Guidelines for food hygiene

  1. Wash cooking utensils before and after eating
  2. Vegetables and fruits should be cleaned of sand or any form of dirt
  3. use clean plates to serve food
  4. Wear a clean apron and cover your hair with a clean scarf while cooking
  5. Don’t use any food if you can’t guarantee it’s freshness
  6. Perishable food should  be kept in the refrigerator
