In today’s class, we will be talking about methods controlling harmful insects. Enjoy the class!
METHODS OF CONTROLLING HARMFUL INSECTS
It is very important to control or prevent harmful insects from our environment. We must make sure that we stop them from attacking us, our crops, farms and animals
Some of the ways we can do this are:
- We can spray chemical on our farm store or our environment to kill these harmful insects. However we must be careful when we spray chemical because they could be poisonous and dangerous to our health. We must also use hand gloves, or wash our hands very well after spraying the chemicals. This chemicals are called insecticides.
- We should also store farm produce properly. We should not put them where insects can easily get to them.
- We should harvest crops from the farm on time.
- We should use mosquito nets around homes and farm animal pens, to keep away mosquitoes and tsetsefly.
- We should clear our surrounding bushes regularly.
- We should prevent stagnant water from gathering around our homes.
