Meaning Of Ornamental Crops
Ornamental crops are plants that add colour or beauty to our environment. We cultivate them around our schools, homes and surroundings to make it beautiful. Ornamental plants are grown in gardens. They are not edible.
Some examples of ornamental plants include: Sunflower, Lawn grasses, Ice plant, Lantana flower, Morning glory, Hibiscus, Spider lily, Allamanda, Rose flower.
Ornamental plants are plants that are grown for decorative purposes in gardens and landscape design projects, as houseplants.
Ornamental crops include flowers and shrubs. Shrubs are woody plants that are smaller than trees.
Uses Of Ornamental Crops
- Ornamental crops beautify our environment.
- Ornamental crops are grown to protect the soil.
- They are grown to control erosion.
- They are built and used to create a Fence or boundary.
- Ornamental crops are also used to create a shade from the heat of the sun.
