Introduction
We have already learnt about what technology is and the importance of technology to us. In the previous lesson, we mentioned various products of technology and their uses. How these products have improved us and made life and work easier and faster.
In this week’s lesson, we will be identifying gadgets related to ICT and their uses
Meaning of terms
ICT
ICT is an acronym that means – Information and Communication Technology. Although there is no single, universal definition of ICT, the term is generally accepted to mean all devices, networking components, applications and systems that combined to allow people and organizations to interact in the digital world.
ICT has drastically changed how people work, communicate, learn, and live. ICT is important to economic development and business growth. So, ICT is concerned with the storage, retrieval, manipulation, transmission, or receipt of digital data.

Analog and digital systems
Analog signal is a continuous signal which represents physical measurements. Digital signals are discrete-time signals generated by digital modulation. Waves. Denoted by sine waves.
Analogue systems process analogue signals which can take any value within a range, for example, a microphone. Digital systems process digital signals which can take only a limited number of values (discrete steps), usually just two values are used. A computer is an example of a digital system.
