POPULATION AND HOUSING
Population is the total number of people living in a particular area. The size of the population of a community and particularly the number of families in the community, determines the demand for housing. More people and more families mean more houses for them to live on.
Reasons Why Everyone Does not own a House in Nigeria
- Many people are poor
- Building materials are too expensive
- People cannot easily obtain loans.
- The cost of land is too high
Solutions to Housing Shortage
- The cost of building should be reduced
- Housing loans should be given to workers
- People should buy land in rural areas where it is cheaper
- Government should build affordable houses and sell to people at the local government level.
