TOPIC: God created man in His own image
TEXT: Genesis 1:26 -28
Hello. Welcome to class.
Who do people say you look like, your Mum or Dad? You will find out today that we all look like God because He created us in His own image.
God created man in His image on the sixth day. He created man to have the same likeness as Him. God formed man out of the dust of the earth and then breathed into his nose to give him life. The first man created by God was called Adam, from Adam’s ribs God created a helpmeet for him, by the name Eve.
Man has God’s spirit and intelligence to work with
God formed man out of the dust of the ground and then breathed into his nose to give him life. Adam was made in God’s image and likeness. Having God’s spirit, His mind and intelligence to work with. As a result, He gave man the responsibilities of caring for the garden and naming all animals.
Man possess the attitude of God
God also made man and woman which He had created to be fruitful i.e. increase in number by procreating their offspring and fill the earth. He also gave man dominion over the fish in the sea, birds of the sky and all the animals that creeps on the earth.
Moral lesson:
- Man alone can reason and act upon his original thoughts.
- Animals are not creative but man is.
