TOPIC: God sent His only son to demonstrate love
TEXT: John 4:18, John 3:16, Luke 10: 25-27
The bible tells us in John 3:16, “for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him, should not perish but have everlasting life.” He gave His son for us because He loves us and does not want us to perish. God chose to love us, even while we were yet sinner. So when we accept Him as Lord and savior, we become His special children.
How we demonstrate our love to one another
As Christians and children of God, who have been called out of darkness into the marvelous light of Christ. The criteria or requirement to show that you truly love God is to obey the law or commandment of God, written in Luke 10:27.
It says you shall love the Lord your God, with all your heart , soul and strength. He also stated that you should love your neighbor.
When we do all that we are taught, we are candidates of eternal life.
Moral lesson
- God loves us so much, He does not want us to perish
- To reciprocate God’s love, we must love Him too
- It is good to love our neighbors.
