In today’s English class, we will be learning about Writing A Composition About My Favorite Sport.

Just as we have our favorite food, and other favorite things and places we like or appreciate more, in sports, people have got the particular type they enjoy, as well as their favorite sports person. 

Let’s look at this example on how to write a composition about a favorite sport. 

Composition: My Favorite Sport  

My name is Adamu Salisu, I am ten years old, and I would like to talk about my favorite sport. 

My favorite sport in the world is football. I like football for many reasons. However, the major reason I enjoy football more than any other sport is because football brings people together and makes them happy.

In a football game, there are 22 players from two teams who play against each other. Whenever I watch football, I am always happy. I hope to become a better player than Lionel Messi. 

Football is an exciting sport that everyone should give a try.  

The composition we just read contains information about the writer, his name, and age, and why he enjoys his favorite sport. When writing a composition, remember to stick to the topic and write on it as instructed. 

 

Evaluation

Answer the following questions: 

• What is the writer’s name
• What is the writer’s age
• What is his favorite sport?
• Name two reasons why the writer enjoys his favorite sport. 

 

Reading Assignment

What are the important things you must take note of, when writing a composition? List them. 

 

Weekend Assignment

Write a composition about “A Day I Will Always Remember.”
