In today’s English class, we will be learning about Conversation And Dialogue
Today’s class will be as interesting as you want it to be. Come along!
What comes to your mind when you hear about conversation and dialogue? This should interest you because it is what you practice everyday.
Conversations can be called Dialogues, while Dialogues can also be referred to as Conversations.
Conversations/Dialogues are defined as a communication or discussion between two or more people. This means that as long as information is being passed, there is every possibility that a conversation or dialogue is taking place.
Let’s look at the Dialogue/Conversation between a mother and her daughter.
Joy: Good afternoon, Mama
Mother: Welcome, Joy. Where is your twin sister, Jane?
Joy: She is already in the compound with Papa
Jane: Good afternoon, Mama.
Mother: Welcome, Jane. Where is your father?
Jane: Papa is already at the door.
Mother: Both of you should quickly take your bath and join your father and I in the compound. We need to visit your aunt that has just put to bed.
This conversation between Joy, Jane and their mother has just portrayed the definition of a conversation. Remember, a conversation or dialogue can involve two or more people.
What is the difference between a Dialogue and a Conversation?
Read a passage on a conversation between a father and a son.
Imagine you have been called into the Teachers staff room to be interviewed as a school prefect, write how the conversation will play out.
We hope you enjoyed today’s class. In our next class, we will be reading a Passage on Clean And Safe Water.
