Simple Future Tense

The simple future is a verb tense that is used to talk about things that have not happened yet. Such as talking about where to visit during the holidays and what to wear to your friend’s birthday party.

Not only that. You can also use the simple future to talk about an action or condition that will begin and end in the future.

How To Ask a Question in The Simple Future

 

To ask a question in the simple future, the formula is will + [subject] + [root form of verb].

  • Will Primary six class finish Verbal Aptitude over the summer?

  • Will I have the opportunity to study French every day?

From the examples, you can notice the consistency in using will to show you how to ask questions in future tense. 

You can also choose to have a construction of am/is/are + [subject] + going to + [root form of verb].

Some examples are:

  • Is Primary six class going to finish Verbal Aptitude over the summer?
  • Am I going to have the opportunity to study French every day?
  • What are you going to buy with the money you found?

In summary, when engaged in a simple future question, you can choose to use any of these methods: will + [subject] + [root form of verb] or am/is/are + [subject] + going to + [root form of verb].
